Hi, I am an experienced nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator that has retired recently. If you are headed to college, look up collegediabetesnetwork.com for help. Are you going to be transitioning to an adult endocrinologist? This is probably a bigger change than getting out of high school. I see many youths your age drop out of medical care. I hope you have a parent to keep you on insurance, because so many young people cannot get on insurance. I am so glad you are seeking support. Diabetes is not your choice or fault! I hope you are in a support group and checking blood sugars. The ones that don't, can ignore their diabetes (until DKA and hospital time. ) Praying for your health!
