In September I was diagnosed with type 2. My numbers have been all over the place. I'm not quite high enough for meds. But its definitely higher than I want to be.

Hi Michan. I also have Type 2 diabetes, but as a nurse, I educated myself and am a Certified Diabetes Educator for the last 10 years. Your blood sugar changes in response to different amounts and kinds of food as well as your body's ability to make insulin. Insulin is the hormone that opens the cell to take in the sugar from your blood that has glucose from digesting food. We need the glucose (sugar) to make energy. The glucose builds up in your blood if your body cannot make enough insulin. Like any disease, it is not your fault‼️ You need to ask your doctor to order you diabetes classes to help you understand how to stay healthy. Most insurance will pay for a Recognized Diabetes Education And Support Program. Everyone needs education and support‼️
