I was diagnoised type 2 in April. No one in my family has/had diabetes. I have been taking metformin since my diagnosis. At first, I totally lost my appetite and felt sick even trying to eat. I am finally able to eat and have lost 33 pounds by watching my carbs. The highest my blood sugar has been is 135, and that was because I cheated one night.

Welcome to the forum @iagr8mom22 I'm also type 2, but diet controlled only. I have heard from a few people that metformin can make you feel sick at first. If you still have trouble with it, try and get the slow release version. It's a bit kinder to your insides :)

o_OWow, iagr8mom22, I'm very impressed with your weight loss & blood levels, great work.
I was diagnosed over a year ago, though just finding this community, type II & first in my family too.
Kinda makes me feel like I have a target on me.
But can't stay in negative thoughts too long, not helpful.
