Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with type 1 at age 12. I'm now 36 and feel like I am only just getting the hang of everything. For a few years I stopped testing and was pretty much just guessing how much insulin I should be taking. I thank the Lord every day that I am still alive and have been given a second chance to control my diabetes properly and continue riding horses every day.
My husband found out he was a type1diabetic in 1996at age 20.we had been married 2yrs when we found out (and had never heard of it). But like u were saying kinda he was in denial for a long time. But has come out of it and it seems like in the past 8yrs we have finially got the hang of it.
so glad you are out of your not testing/insuin guessing stage! it can be a terrible place and not always easy to recover from.
