My name is Charlene and I have type 2 diabetes. I was diet controlled until April 2012 when I started metformin, 2x a day. I followed a 1500 calorie diet, low sugar, low salt and low carbs. I weight over 200 lbs. as time progressed and diet continued, I lost weight and sugar stablized, I felt better. Unknown to me I was in 3rd stage CKD. By February of 2015 I had stopped metformin and my blood pressure meds altogether. So far I’ve lost 55 or so lbs. I’ll share what I’ve learned and I hope to learn new things tool
