Question: End of this past year, my health insurance told me that they were no longer covering the glucose meter I had been using for almost 4 years and that I had to switch to one that they would cover, So I picked a new one....the Freedom Freestyle Lite....the insurance approved, so i went to the Abbot website, signed up for their Promise (I think it is called) program that would give me discounted strips. And got a prescription from my doctor. was not much of a discount....I have to pay $40...which is the med co-pay....I am now seriously considering switching the Freestyle Precision Neo System....which is much cheaper and I wish I had gone for that one before making the decision that I did. I don't have to have a prescription with this either and the strips are OTC. I am wondering if anyone has this meter and their thoughts.
